Session 7: Steve Lawson

Pulpit Magazine March 6, 2009

Steve Lawson gave a rousing message on the need for pastors to protect the purity of the Gospel. His text was Galatians 1:6-10, where Paul rebuked the Galatians for their willingness to quickly abandon the truth for another gospel. So many in evangelicalism today are promoting another gospel; but faithful pastors must know the truth and proclaim it boldly. Dr. Lawson's passion was infectuous, and the session ended in heartfelt applause. For a more-detailed outline of Dr. Lawson's message, please click here

"if we seek to please God, it doesn't matter who we displease. If we displease God, it doesn't matter who we please."

Steve Lawson is truly one of the few who speak the truth in love with such balance and a fullness of God's counsel. What a blessing to know God still has His pastors, though it may be a small remnant, it is a remnant nonetheless, of the Lord, and so the kingdom can become like a small piece of leaven put within a lump of dough, and soon the dough is all leavened (Matt 13:33).

I really loved those photos. Thanks.

I wish I had a church like this in my community. Perhaps someday our Lord will do such a great work here as well.

It was interesting to hear that he lumped the so-called "New Paul Perspective" in with other false gospels. I am glad are still preachers who will stand and proclaim the truth of the glorious gospel and not be afraid to confront error and just "I don't know" (inside joke if you heard the sermon).

One of the best sermons I have ever heard. Steve Lawson left no one in the room with any doubt as to our call to stand firm for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
